5 months and 25,000 Km
We started the trip in the beginning of October in Edmonton and ended 5 months later in Buenos Aires Argentina, 25,000 km later. We only had one critical time on the entire trip which was our sailboat ride from Panama to Columbia. The entire rest of the trip there was no timeline or specific route laid out. We would buy a paper map in the country we entered and then figure out where to go from there. Asking locals along the way was the key to success getting to Argentina. We biked as much or as little as we wanted each day and it typically consisted of getting packed up, grabbing breakfast from a food stand, driving for a bit, grabbing lunch from another food stand, driving for a bit or exploring a town, and then looking for somewhere to spend the night. It was a very freeing experience not having everything booked and coordinated as we were free to come and go as we wanted.
I feel like our lives can be very pre-scripted in today's world following norms and routines every day, week, year, decade. This trip truly felt like a non-scripted experience.
The picture was taken in Utah in the Moab National Park. Taking a break exploring the off roading capabilities of the bikes.
